Buffy
Playbus has been in existance for nearly 17 years and during this time over 55,000 people have climbed on board
the bus. The
double decker bus has been specially converted to provide, easily accessible and supervised play for under 5's.
The inspired initiative of a mobile service in a widespread rural area, is invaluable in bringing good quality play and learning
facilities, under the guidance of professional early years workers, directly to where they are needed most.
We also have additional fun days in different communities
during school holidays, so check on our timetable for times and venues. We are always looking for sponsors for the bus
and also for holiday "FUN" days, could you help us, if so contact me?
Each
week Buffy Playbus costs over £1,000 to run, we have to find this money from a number of sources including statutory
doners, trusts and by our own fundraising efforts. With diesel costs soaring, we have to make sure that each community that we visit, supports the bus as
fully as possible, we make a small charge for you to visit the bus, and suggest a donation of £2 for a child and £2,50 for a family (more than 1 child) for
each Playbus session.
Our
work with local children's centres.
Buffy Playbus is working in conjunction with Fairycroft Chidren's
Centre based in Saffron Walden to support a new session in Ashdon, at Church Field. We are there every Friday from 11am until
12.15pm. Hope to see you soon
We also work closely with Spangles Children's Centre in Stansted every wednesday
afternoon. Lesley Murdoch who works as Spangles Outreach Worker joins us regularly on Buffy Playbus, she has excellent ideas
and skills and has inspired many young musicians and led a variety of story and role play sessions on the bus. We value this
partnership working with all three local children's centres.
